How to Apply
With changes to the New Zealand Government guidelines with regards to Covid-19, the NZMGA no longer requires a Vaccine Pass for participants on courses/assessments. Participants are required to follow our pre and during course/assessment Covid-19 procedures. We will adopt guidelines as and when required by the government.
There are five guiding pathways that you can apply for with the New Zealand Mountain Guides Association. On submitting your Application to the NZMGA you are applying for a specific pathway.
IMPORTANT: Please note, your application for all Pathways will only be accepted when it is accompanied by ALL pre-requisite information and documentation. Please ensure you include all requirements with your application.
Assessments are not guaranteed until a candidate has received a confirmation email 8 weeks prior to the assessment. The NZMGA reserves the right to cancel any assessment prior to candidates receiving the confirmation email.
In order to be considered for entry on the New Zealand Mountain Guides training scheme, you must meet the requirements.
Submit your completed application form for your chosen guiding pathway to the NZMGA. We will check your application and be in touch shortly.
Once we've accepted your application, you'll become a candidate for the next course (if there are no spaces, you'll be waitlisted on a first-paid-first-served basis).
You'll be notified as soon as the next space becomes available and asked to pay the remaining course fee to confirm it.
